GM has released official renderings of the New Cars – Chevrolet Agile for the first time. The Agile, remember is a subcompact hatchback that will be manufactured in Argentina for the whole of Latin America.
The Chevrolet Agile might also be souped-up to be ready to take on the new Ford Fiesta in the United States.
The Agile will be built in Argentina, but development has happened in Brazil for the past few years. The company shelled US $400 million on the Agile, which is why it will travel to China and India in the future, to give back maximum returns to GM.
The Chevrolet Agile, according to US Magazine Motor Trend, will replace the Aveo. Lake Orion, Michigan is selected to host production of this compact car that is based on the Gamma 2 platform.
The VW Polo, which debuts in India during the Delhi Auto Expo next year, will be the Agile’s direct competitor. Two petrol options, a 105 bhp 1.4-litre and a 129 bhp 1.8-litre are planned with nothing said about diesels.
